acdc take on the Wild West for Operation Oliver…

Employees and their families at acdc dug deep in 2013 and together raised the impressive sum of £1000.00 which has been donated to ‘Operation Oliver’, the acdc chosen charity of the year. Funds were raised throughout the year including at the business’ annual barbeque where staff were invited to bring their families along to the Wild West themed event where they were roped into a number of team games, fancy dress competitions, and a bucking bronco challenge in order to raise as much money as possible.
Oliver’s family launched the ‘Operation Oliver’ campaign to fund an operation that would help him to walk, after he was diagnosed with spastic diplegia, a form of cerebral palsy, and needed to raise £25,000 to pay for the operation on his spinal cord. Oliver’s mum Helen Rushton said, “since his operation in August, Oliver is doing fantastic and continuing to work really hard at physio, the funds raised by acdc will be used towards the purchase of a treadmill which will help Oliver further in his recovery.”

acdc’s CEO Gareth Frankland commented, “We wanted to support Oliver and his family in helping them to raise funds to reach their goal and to allow Oliver to have his operation along with being able to assist towards the aftercare. The team at acdc are always supportive of local charities, but I’m overwhelmed by the amount raised this year”
