Video | acdc welcomes His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent…
Written by acdc on November 25, 2013>
acdc had a very important visitor to our Barrowford manufacturing facility on the 7th November – His Royal Highness, the Duke of Kent. What you may not know is why he has chosen to visit us…
In true acdc style we have stood out from the crowd by continuing to challenge the norm; while most businesses are trying to survive today’s economic struggles, we at acdc have taken a particularly pro-active approach, actively seeking out new opportunities across the world. One such example is our high profile contract win secured earlier this year to supply £5 million of lighting to Muscat airport in Oman; a project His Royal Highness is particularly interested in.
The Royal visit also recognises the considerable investment we have made in terms of improvements to our manufacturing facility and the boost we have seen in terms of production this year.
On the day, HRH Duke of Kent received a short presentation by the Board of Directors and was given a guided tour of Innovation Works giving an insight into how acdc products are conceived and developed.
The visit concluded in the Linear Room with a demonstration of our new Potting system and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque to officially open the newly refurbished manufacturing site.
HRH was extremely impressed with the state-of-the art facilities on the shop floor and clearly enjoyed chatting with staff. He described the facility as “absolutely fascinating” and wished acdc every success in the future.
Commenting on the visit, Gareth Frankland said “This visit is happening as recognition of our position in the marketplace and represents the hard work of everyone at acdc. It’s a real opportunity for us to celebrate our success and the major steps we have all taken as a Company.”
